Day 20 - Allergies? Try essential oils.


Watery eyes and itchy, runny noses can make the beauty of spring a bit...blurry. If you've never attempted essential oils for some relief, now is the perfect time to try.

Essential Oils for Allergies*

Eucalyptus

Peppermint

Lemon

Lavender

Tea Tree

Chamomile

Frankincense

*These oils all have evidence-based research supporting their use in a variety of allergy situations, whether it is skin allergy, environmental allergies, or another type of immune response by the body.

To use, simply place a few drops onto a tissue or cloth napkin. Close your eyes, and inhale through your nose, closing one nostril at a time. You can also diffuse the oil into the air where you are sitting.

I can personally attest that the astringent properties of inhaled eucalyptus help dry up runny noses for about 2 hours. And that's without any of the side effects of allergy medicines.

To start, try a blend of eucalyptus, peppermint, and lemon. Use care around eyes, and avoid applying oils to sensitive areas like the skin around the eyes or inside the mouth.
