Day 11 - 30 Day Mini Challenge!
Just an easy, quick swap today - any sweet that you would normally choose like candy, lollipops, M&M's, cookies, cakes, muffins - swap it for a pack of nuts!
Choose pistachios, cashews, almonds, pecans, pumpkin seeds, peanuts, walnuts, or any blend of all of these!
It's easy to find pre-bagged, pre-portioned servings of these in most grocery stores, or just measure out about 1/4 cup of nuts (or count out about 10-15 almond-sized nuts) and place them in a plastic back or other reusable container.
If you'd rather have your nuts smoothed out in a blended nut butter - that's fine too! Just remember that most nut butters have a 2 tablespoon serving size, and you'll want to avoid mindlessly eating half the jar! (True story.)
Just this ONE switch today can help you identify what candies and sweets are in your line of sight, and ensure that you get some heart-healthy fats, magnesium, and calcium instead.
Of note - nuts are usually dried or dry roasted. Drinking plenty of water with these is essential for rehydrating the nuts slightly to improve digestion.
